This compact, drought-tolerant variety of elderberry is a favorite commercial choice. It produces berries on shorter (~5′ tall) plants, but it tolerates temperature swings and hard growing conditions too.
Grow your own elderberries from these cuttings from Strathearn Elderberries, a small family farm in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia! When growing elderberries, keep in mind that they cross-pollinate. A minimum of two plants is suggested for pollination purposes. Planting multiple varieties of elderberries together are reported to improve pollination, but they are not required.
